Training Division
The Training Division of Durango Fire and Rescue is responsible for the training of all members. Training includes initial entry level training for our volunteers, initial fire and emergency medical certifications, and constant renewal of certifications. Our division is staffed with a Battalion Chief, three Safety Captains, and an administrative assistant.
In 2021 we opened our Fire Training Center adjacent to our Fire Station 1 in Durango. This four-story drill tower and two-story with sloped roof/attic live fire building allows for multiple training scenarios and opportunities for professional development for all of our members.
