WILDFIRE RISK ASSESSMENT REQUEST FORM
Due to the rapid influx of assessments, it is taking our Wildfire Division more time than usual to follow up with each request. Please submit only one request. The assessments are done as quickly as possible and in the order in which they are received. Thank you for your patience during this time.
Durango Fire & Rescue provides wildfire risk site assessments as a service to the members within our district, they are on a first come first service basis based on call volume and other workloads.
Site Assessment Overview
When a site assessment is requested, we will contact you via phone or email to schedule the site assessment. During the site visit a firefighter will meet with you to discuss defensible space and things you can do make your home safer in the event of a wildfire. We will make a list of things that are recommended by the CO State Forest Service and compile these items into a 3 page report. Site assessments are a tool to help protect your property. We do not enforce any recommendation in the site assessment, this is simply a service to our community.
