Durango Fire & Rescue is conducting a pile burn on City of Durango – Government land near the Sky Steps. Wednesday morning (3/8/23), and if test ignitions meet resource objectives, approximately 75 piles will be burned both Wednesday and Thursday. Firefighters will monitoring the piles until they are out. Smoke may be visible for several days. Sky steps will remain open but the public is asked to be aware of firefighters and equipment in the area.
